       JACK ERWIN NAMED NEW COORDINATOR FOR THE CLUB'S SUMMER LEAGUE AND COUNTY FAIR TOURNAMENTS

  

 

THE 2008 HILLSDALE COUNTY FAIR HORSESHOE TOURNAMENTS DRAW RECORD NUMBER OF PITCHERS

 Our County Fair schedule featured a total of 9 tournaments and the 'Youth Fun Throw' drawing a total of 167 pitchers in the 9 tournaments.  Only two youth participated in the Youth Fun Throw.  The Hillsdale Fairground Horseshoe Club Members pitching in the 2008 tournaments were Bob Soper, Jim Esterline, Dick Thompson, Larry Ringman, Marv Wampler, Ron Deforest, Dave DeKlien, Bill Tedrick, Gerald McClellan, Ken Schmucker, Mike Longbrake, Jason Longbrake, Barry Hinkle and Morris Seevers.

 Members placing first or second in one or more tournaments were Brett Ringman and Travis Ringman, (Youth Fun Pitch), Jack Erwin, Dick Thompson, Larry Ringman, Marv Wampler, Ron Deforest, Bill Tedrick, Bob Soper, Jason Longbrake and Morris Seevers.

The Wednesday Doubles Tournament continued to attract the largest number of pitchers with a total of 40 in 20 teams. The evening tournaments were well attended. Bob Soper, Jack Erwin keep the courts in top condition. First year club member, Ken Schmucker, served as tournament Clerk  setting up the class rosters for each tournament and recording results. Bob Soper served as sponsor contact with Walmart with  Amy Ringman and Wanda Tedrick helped with the Saturday luncheon and score keeping. Hats off to all the club members and spouses that helped make the Fair Tournaments successful! Wal-Mart continued to support our Saturday Luncheon for participants.
