2010 HILLSDALE COUNTY FAIR TOURNAMENTS FEATURE LOCAL HORSESHOE PITCHERS
The weather during the 2010 Hillsdale County Fair was good overall. Even with a little rain and winds all 9 of the scheduled horseshoe tournaments were completed with increased participants according to Jack Erwin, Tournament Coordinator. Ken Schmucker served as the tournament clerk keeping tab on all the results. Bill Tedrick provided the daily watermelon and made photos of all the class first and second place winners. Results were emailed to the Hillsdale Daily each evening. Danny Ringman, provided his RV as the Tournament Office for the week.
Saturday featured a free lunch with the Hillsdale Fairground Horseshoe Club providing the goodies that were served by a number of club members. The light rain and cool temperatures took some of the enjoyment away, but it was still a good conclusion for the tournament.
We greeted
several horseshoe players from Ohio including Buck and Marlene Cooper, John
Winszeler, Olen Stuzman, Ed Wasuman and perhaps others. We also greeted a
contingent from the Jackson County Horseshoe Club including Carl Rennells,
the club president.
