LEAGUE PLAYERS HAVE CONCESSION STAND WITH A GREAT MENU
League pitchers that come strait to League can
get great eats right on the Courts. The folks manning the stand has a
great menu of items to keep you pitching top drawer. We'll have more
detail information soon. Check it out next week! You won't need to
raid the frig when you get home from League play.
JACKSON CLUB MEMBERS IN WORLD TOURNAMENT COMPETITION
Jackson Club President, Carl Rennel, will accompany Bill
Tedrick and Tim Thornton to the World Tournament at Cedar
Rapids, Iowa. Both league members will play on July 29th, 30th and 31st.
Tim is entered in the Men's Division Class C-3 and Tedrick is in the
Elder Division in Class E-2. Both classes will seed 16 pitchers with
five 40 shoe games to be played over the three day pitching schedule,
according to Rennel. This will be Tim's first World Tournament and the
13th for Tedrick. Some 1268 NHPA members have entered the 2010 World
Tournament. Some 40 Michigan Horseshoe Pitchers Association members will
pitch in the 2010 World Tournament, according to Ron Kohn, MHPA President.
Tom Williams who placed 5th in the World Championship Class in 2008 is not going to the World this year. Tom placed fifth at an Invitational Tournament featuring the top NHPA pitchers held in May at the NHPA Hall of Fame courts in Wentville, MO.
